Review: Home (2015/PG)

Sigh… Dreamworks what happened to you? You used to be cool. Once again it’s a paint by the numbers animated film again. So why didn’t we like it? Well it seems dreamworks movies are starting to get formulaic. Every movie starts with a monologue of the main character. This has been a issue on what seems like every movie after Puss in Boots. In the good old days of dreamworks movies (1998-2004) they were the hip alternative to Pixar. Now this attempt with Home is basically an ainimated episode of the Big Bang Theory with plot of Planet 51 thrown in. Yes this is geared towards children but come on where’s the orginality? Do we really need to hear that Rhianna song 4 times just to pad the film to 90 minuets on a weak story?

On a scale of 1.0 to 5.9 it got a 3.1 out of 5.9
